Meet Chiara – one of our Junior Product Managers. Find out how she and her team see a collection through from beginning to end, and the wardrobe staple she can’t do without.

What’s your role at FitFlop?

I’m a Junior Product Manager. In collaboration with Design, Product Development and the Sales teams I help planning and developing a strong collection that excites our customers, broadening our offering season on season.

We make sure the collection keeps a balance between our strong brand identity, the commercial requirements for the season and the trends in the footwear industry, in order to stay relevant in the market place.

Can you tell us a little bit about roles you’ve had before joining FitFlop?

Before FitFlop, I used to work in the lingerie industry as a junior product merchandiser, focused on the seasonal and fashion range.

What does a normal day look like for you?

Since I started at FitFlop last November, there hasn’t been a day similar to the previous one. In the product team we work 3-4 seasons at a time. Being the product keepers we are constantly working with all the departments in the business making sure that from day one we create a collection that tells a story in the FitFlop way.

Why is comfort important to you in your job?

Comfort is FitFlop’s fundamental staple and it’s part of my role to make sure the collection is offering a balanced mix of our technologies. Comfort is also very important in my day-to-day as a philosophy of life. If you’re comfortable within yourself and with what you’re wearing, you can give 100% of your energy and focus in what you’re doing because you feel good.

What’s your favourite thing about working here at FitFlop?

The work ethic is probably my favourite thing. Everyday we all work really hard putting our full heart in what we do, but at the same time FitFlop gives you the chance to grow, have ownership of what you do and make decisions that will help shaping the future of the company. Every day there’s a new challenge and I like the fact that especially in my team we all work together, hands on, eager to learn from each other and help whenever it’s needed.

What do you like most about the Spacer sock sneakers?

It’s such a cool style. It’s linking the sock boot trend to the chunky midsole with the FitFlop handwriting. The design team, together with our R&D manager, have engineered the ErgocomFF™ midsole in an amazing way marrying comfort and trend – definitely one of my favourite midsoles.

Tell us the inspiration behind the outfit you’ve paired with these shoes.

Less is more, and comfort is key. What’s more stylish and easy than a pair of jeans and an oversized shirt or T-shirt?

What is your wardrobe staple, the one thing you can’t live without?

Definitely sneakers, a pair of jeans and a T-shirt – simple and comfy is always on trend.

Who would you say is your style icon?

Phoebe Philo, she is my favourite designer and a symbol of minimal beauty.

What are some other styles in our new range that you are excited about?

The Carita sneaker is my number one everyday choice. The Kinbey ankle boot in black for a winter option, and the Annah slide for a perfect warm weather style.
