Meet Laura – Head of Creative Direction at FitFlop. Find out her top picks from our new collection and why she advises not saving your best pieces just for special occasions.

What’s your role at FitFlop?

I’m the Head of Creative Direction.

Can you tell us a little bit about roles you’ve had before joining FitFlop?

I worked as an Art Editor for a high fashion retailer. My main role was creating and overseeing the creative output for the marketing assets.

What does a normal day look like for you?

I have a very nice role at Fitflop! My main responsibility is the look of the brand, so a normal day would be signing off work from the design team and planning for the next shoot with my work wife, Jo!

Why is comfort important to you in your job?

I am a new mum so am always running out of the office for nursery pick up. When I’m on shoots, I’m on my feet all day so comfort is essential. I discovered on my first shoot for FitFlop, nearly three years ago now, that my feet weren’t tired at the end of the day, for the first time EVER! I find it hard to wear anything else now. My wardrobe is now essentially a long-term storage facility for my heels!

What’s your favourite thing about working here at FitFlop?

The people! It’s such a nice team and a supportive place to work. I thought I would struggle coming back after maternity leave but the people I work with have made it an enjoyable experience.

What do you like most about the Spacer sock sneakers?

They are incredibly lightweight and comfortable. I love this new silhouette.

Tell us the inspiration behind the outfit you’ve paired with these shoes.

I once read not to keep your ‘best’ for best because you’ll never wear it. So I’ve added a bit of sparkle to my everyday…

What is your wardrobe staple, the one thing you can’t live without?

Anything navy or black… it’s boring but it goes with everything!

Who would you say is your style icon?

Oh that’s a tricky one, I LOVE Iris Apfel and Caroline de Maigret but the list is as long as my arm!

What are some other styles in our new range that you are excited about?

It’s hard to choose only a few but I would say Annah toe-thongs in black, Klara high-line ballerinas in black, and the Glace boot in every shade.
