Meet Daniel – our incredibly hard-working design intern who also studies footwear design at London College of Fashion.

Tell us about your previous roles, and about your current studies.

My role has been mainly designing – from clothing to accessories and footwear. I’m also a student at London College of Fashion where I’m still learning new processes of making the products – including design, patternmaking, lasting (setting the final shape of the shoe) and sole unit development.

What does a normal day look like for you?

It involves going through a lot of emails in the morning and multitasking on projects. This includes revising samples for next season, working on collaborations and researching and developing new concepts.

Why is comfort important to you in your job?

I’m always on the go so I need comfortable shoes for getting around, both in the office and outside of work.

What’s your favourite thing about working here at FitFlop?

The people I work with – not just in my department but others too. They make work fun!

What do you like most about the Swatchbook high-top sock sneakers?

The concept of using a designer’s swatchbook for a completed design is so clever!

Tell us the inspiration behind the outfit you’ve paired with these shoes.

I wanted to balance the bright neon so I went for a classic dark denim and white T-shirt combination.

What is your wardrobe staple, the one thing you can’t live without?

Colourful socks with character, and smart shirts with interesting prints and cuts.

Who would you say is your style icon?

It used to be Asap Rocky but now I’m trying to be myself.

What are some other styles in our new range that you are excited about?

I really like the Spacer sock sneaker.
