How style influencers Caitlyn Warakomski, Jackie Miranne and Olivia Jeanette are styling the season’s top shoe trend
If there’s one thing TV host Jackie Miranne, fashion blogger Olivia Jeanette and Caitlyn Warakomski of ‘How Do You Wear That’ have in common, it’s that convenient and comfortable should never mean boring—especially when it comes to your shoes, and especially when it comes to New York Fashion Week. Hundreds of fashion shows and dozens of street style photographers mean plenty of outfit changes are required. Even more importantly, though, you need the confidence to pull them all off.
That’s where the season’s biggest trend comes in: stylish sneakers teamed with a more dressed-up look. “If I am going to trade in my heels, the shoes better be really comfortable,” says Olivia. “After a few outfit experiments, I realized I could still look polished and put together with sneakers. Plus, it made city commuting a whole lot more enjoyable and allowed me to keep up with the little one.” Olivia pairs an easy, leopard-print dress and classic leather biker jacket with the Airmesh sneakers in black for a look that’s both edgy and cool.
Caitlyn takes a similar approach, albeit with a touch more colour. “My days are usually very long and I am always running around, so having a pair of comfy shoes (that are still cute) is pretty key for me,” she says. Her crisp, white Rally snake-print leather sneakers are the perfect complement to an ultra-feminine, ruffled cream skirt; a yellow sweater, oversized denim jacket, statement bag, and softly tousled waves finish off her street style-ready look.
Jackie takes things one step further, letting her pristine Rally scallop leather sneakers add a tough edge to a floaty, semi-sheer animal-print dress. “Now THIS is a fashion sneaker,” she exclaims, “and boy, do they pair perfectly with the snake print trend—but let’s be honest, they really go with every look.”
We couldn’t agree more. So whether you’re inspired by Olivia’s tough-luxe look, Caitlyn’s colourful approach or Jackie’s take on the snake print trend this fashion month, we’ve got a sneaker that’s convenient, comfortable—and never boring.
